Career Pathway Essay Competition

The short formal essay will profile one career in medicine. It will allow students to focus on a single specialty in detail and cover a variety of specialties in the field of medicine. Participate to win a $25 Amazon Gift Card and a publication on our website with your name! 

Due Dates: 

• Final Proposal Due: July 23rd, 2021 
• Final Essays Due: August 13th, 2021 

Profile of the Medical Career must include: 

• Career description, salary, skills needed, education (possible majors)
• 2 Diseases/illnesses/disorders they treat, along with descriptions 
• 2 Subspecialties in their field, along with description of what is done in each subspecialty (e.g Pediatric cardiology, adult cardiology) 
• Any other relevant information 

Essay Format

• MLA format
• Proper grammar and punctuation 
• Minimum of 500 words, Maximum of 750 words
• Works cited page (website links will be provided for assistance)
• Must use a minimum of 3 sources

Visual Representation 

• Include a "title" visual of your speciality  (example down below)
