Through Students in Medicine, we hope to provide a platform for students to learn and explore the medical field. We host monthly panels covering different topics such as medical controversies, careers, medical specialties, etc. Each of these panels features different medical professionals. To recognize the students’ commitment towards the field we will be administering shadowing hours.
Students will be responsible for administering their own hours, however, Students in Medicine will have a format that students must follow in order for the hours to be counted as official. Each panel will consist of two codes, both given randomly throughout the panel! Students will be required to save/write the code down and insert it into the template given for shadowing hours. The submission will also require the name of the panel, date of the panel, the codes, three takeaways from the panels, and the number of hours attended.
Students in Medicine will take shadowing hour submissions after a certain number of hours. For example, a form will be given for 10 hours of completion, 20 hours of completion, and 30 hours of completion, etc. After the student has completed the goal hours, they will upload it into that specific form.
Please make a copy of the template provided below, you may adjust the number of rows as more hours are completed, and continue using the same document. The template of the submission form is the following:

In Students in Medicine, we hope to provide students with the opportunity to expose themselves to different fields. In the medical field, it is quite difficult to be able to receive opportunities that allow you to interact and get your questions answered by real professionals. This is why Students in Medicine hopes to help students out by providing a platform in which you can interact with medical professionals virtually. Every month a panel will be hosted with different topics covered: such as medical controversies, career panels, different specialties, branches of medicine, etc. We hope to be able to help further advance your career by participating in panels by learning more about this extensive field.
